Simon Rogan’s mothership has frequently occupied the number one spot over the years, and while it impressed on inspection, a triumphant factor that sent it straight to the top of the Guide was the engine behind the restaurant: Our Farm.

Big tick for Jamie Oliver Catherine Street, the chef’s come-back restaurant in London’s theatre-land. A recent family visit hit the spot, because sometimes you’re not after discovering the next best culinary thing, or having your thoughts provoked or your tastebuds challenged; sometimes you just want a tasty dinner. Bonus points for the excellent service on our visit. We had tickets for Operation Mincemeat and under 90 minutes before curtain-up, but that didn’t faze any of the team.
